Howl Western Feminist Tee

$27.00

Inspired by a nasty Google review ("Good cup of joe. But way too much of a western feminist atmosphere. Ultimately too politicized." - @libertarianliberation)  We flipped the narrative and embraced this critique.  Yes, we are intersectional feminists living in the Wild West, our lens of the American West is through many facets unique to our geography and history of Colonialism.  For me, being a Western Feminist means working to heal my ancestral wounds by envisioning my Japanese-American Grandmother (now 93 years young) in the WWII Concentration Camp of Heart Mountain in Wyoming and using that knowledge, sadness and rage to 1.) fight for this to never happen again and 2.) to raise my daughter to be a strong woman; to realize all of her dreams and aspirations; and to always fight for those less privileged.

Through our grit and tenacity, womxn in the Mountain West have had to fight hard and are continuing to fight for equality in many areas of life that are dominated by the white-male-hetero-patriarchy.

Designed by Katie Meadows & Mike Buckley of Type Garage, a small graphic design studio located in the mountains of sunny southern Colorado. They call Salida home. Together we collaborated on this Western Feminist Tee.
